Meet Dr. Smith! As an ice hockey player and former ironman finisher, he understands the frustration that an injury can cause and the desire to get back to doing what you love. Whether you’re trying to get back to sports, back to work, or just want to be able to pick up your kids or grandkids, Dr. Smith will work with you to help you achieve your goals. Dr. Smith believes in finding the right treatment approach that aligns with your injury and recovery goals, and collaborates with other professionals in the community to help you with your comeback story.
Bradley W. Smith, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of all sports-related injuries. His expertise includes non-operative and operative (open and arthroscopic) treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle disorders. He is focused on the treatment of bone, joint, tendon, and ligament injuries including joint preservation and the treatment of arthritis in young active patients. Beyond surgical techniques, he can also guide you through non-operative treatment options including biologic alternatives to surgery. He also performs joint replacement for advanced arthritis of the hip, knee, and shoulder. Most importantly, he is committed to helping his patients get over their injuries or pain so they can get back to living active lifestyles.
Dr. Smith graduated with High Honor from Michigan State University, where he majored in physiology. He attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. While there, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honors society and graduated Summa Cum Laude. He performed his orthopedic surgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
Dr. Smith completed his sports medicine fellowship training at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. While there, he received additional training in minimally invasive and advanced arthroscopic techniques for the treatment of sports-related musculoskeletal injuries. During his fellowship, Dr. Smith served as an assistant team physician for several professional and collegiate sports teams, including the New York Jets, New York Islanders, and Manhattanville College.
Dr. Smith is a candidate member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, and playing hockey.
