Comments: I just had the best consultation with Dr. Smith. I was not looking forward to meeting with him due to a really bad experience with an orthopedic surgeon several years ago. Dr. Smith took the time to go over my injury, symptoms and MRI. And this surgeon told me that he would rather I give my injury time to heal and do physical therapy instead of undergoing surgery. I appreciated this so much! Surgeons obviously make their money by doing surgery and this surgeon told me to hold off on surgery! He was thorough, patient and took a lot of time to explain my injury and how physical therapy could help in the long run. I told him I was shocked he didn't tell me I needed surgery. He said that would be the fast and easy conversation. But he has found that the honest, longer conversations have the best long term outcomes. I will definitely recommend him to any family and friends. I am glad he is in the Salt Lake Valley!
